“Shut up, you eediot!”
- Ren to Stimpy
Ren Höek is a scrawny "asthma-hound" chihuahua with a floppy body, donkey-like ears, neon-pink eyes with dark red pupils, red (or sometimes light brown) eyelids, and a fairly long, rat-like, pink tail who often calls Stimpy an idiot ("eediot", to quote the character) and slaps him around, quite literally. Ren is comically cruel in the original series, but in APC, he has malicious tendencies, and his cruelty to Stimpy seems worse (even making him cry). His lifelong ambitious personality is to have huge pectoral muscles. Ren's name is the real name of Kricfalusi's building manager. He was born on Tuesday the 17th, which makes him especially unlucky.
In “Onward & Upward” he and Stimpy are living in a homeless man’s mouth, but they find a nearby spittoon. They are chased by the owner of the spittoon, and end up back in the hobo's mouth.
In “Ren Seeks Help” after doing something terrible to Stimpy, Ren decides to seek help. He comes into Mr. Horse's office and explains his past. We see flashbacks of his disturbing childhood. Mr. Horse becomes angry at Ren, and viciously beats him, but Ren fights back and attacks Mr. Horse in a brutal and feral manner. Eventually, he is restrained and taken to Animal Control.
In “Fire Dogs 2” he and Stimpy befriend Ralph Bakshi, and hang out with him throw town.
In “Naked Beach Frenzy” he sexually harasses women on the beach, leading to him and Stimpy being chased by the lifeguard working at the beach.
In “Altruists”, he and Stimpy help a homeless women and her son by stealing valuables from other people to give to her and her son.
In “Stimpy’s Pregnant”, after Stimpy is believed to have Ren's child, he shoots down other drivers on the road along with a pig cop. In the end, it turned out Stimpy was only constipated.
